The Return Path
Live like a river flows,
carried by the surprise
of its own unfolding.
~ John O'Donohue
How are you experiencing your own Return to Wholeness these days? Even as you read that question, what rises up in you? The voice of gratitude? Of internal disappointment? Of reproach? Excitement? Resistance?
Noticing what is here in the moment...bringing a compassionate sense of presence to whatever is here... is the return path. I offer the following two inquiries as a practice to help you to notice what brings you Home, and what keeps you in the Circle in the Desert. Take a few days to journal your reflections, and see what you discover.
Practice of the Day
Take some time at the beginning or end of your day for reflection on these questions:
1. What are you discovering about the sorts of thinking, focus, and choices that lead you back into the old familiar sense of separation... of living within the confines of your Circle in the Desert?
2. What are you discovering about what opens you to the Wholeness that is here in each moment? To the vast Desert that contains the Circle and infinite possibility? To your most Essential nature?
